I grew up watching gaming YouTubers, which got me interested in all kinds of games from a young age! I especially loved watching videos about indie horror games and Minecraft, and seeing other people play made me want to try gaming for myself. Since I did not have my own computer at the time, I would play games on my phone whenever I could. Then, in eighth grade, I got my step-dad’s old laptop, which finally gave me the chance to try out more games for myself. I mainly played Minecraft, but having the laptop opened me up to a whole new side of gaming that I had only experienced through watching YouTubers! Looking back, those early experiences are a big reason why gaming has continued to be something I enjoy today.
Last summer, I told my step-dad that I had wanted a PC for the longest time so I could have access to more games and create an ultimate gaming setup of my own. He was especially excited because, as a Tech Manager who has built PCs before, he has done this many times before. He ended up building me this really cool rainbow PC with a curved monitor! I have also gotten a nice headset and speakers to go with it to fully deck out my set up. While I definitely do not understand all the bolts and gears that go into making a PC work, I know that mine runs smoothly and has given me the chance to play so many new games.
I have loved going to Comic Cons ever since my dad took me to my first one when I was seven! Comic Cons celebrate anime, video games, comic books, superhero movies, and pretty much anything else nerdy. Over the years, I have met a lot of really cool people who share my love for gaming. I have even gotten to dress up as the game character, Ada Wong from Resident Evil 4, which made the experience even more fun. One of my favorite parts is also getting the chance to meet some of my favorite celebrities and see them in person. My goal is to one day make it to San Diego Comic Con because I have heard about how cool it is, and I think it would be such a fun experience!
